The highly anticipated 2025 Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) held its award ceremony on December 9 at the NCCU Commerce & Public Affairs Center. Chiao‑Yin Wu, a student from the School of Architecture, Feng Chia University, stood out among 16,329 submissions worldwide with her project “Silent Tomb: A Wordless Farewell.” She earned the Silver Award in the Architecture and Landscape Design category, an impressive feat in a competition with a winning rate of less than 0.5%. The Gold Award in this category was won by a student from Waseda University in Japan. Wu’s achievement—placing among the world’s top works—highlights her exceptional design capability and global perspective.

Vice President Bi‑khim Hsiao met with the award‑winning master’s and doctoral students of the 18th Coretronic Thesis Award 2025 at the Presidential Office on the morning of December 4. Among nearly a thousand submitted papers, Chui‑Hong Chiu, a master’s student from the Department of Automatic Control Engineering, Feng Chia University, stood out with his AI model capable of accurately predicting road conditions, earning the Top Honor in the Master’s Group – AI Technology Development and Applications category.

This year, the Office of Sustainability at Feng Chia University once again launched the “Feng Chia Sustainable Living Festival and USR University Social Responsibility Project Achievement Presentation.” A series of activities began on November 24, with the highlight—the Sustainable Market—taking place on the east lawn of the Recreation Building on November 28 and 29. This year’s theme, “Co-living a Sustainable Future,” guided faculty and students to rethink the relationship between living, energy, and the environment through workshops, exhibitions, and the market, bringing the concept of sustainability into everyday life.

Taiwan defended its overall title at the 2025 AsiaSkills Competition, which concluded Nov. 30. Among the team's five youth bronze medals, Feng Chia University alumnus Lin Chen-Yi secured a podium finish in Cloud Computing, overcoming intense pressure from top rivals like Japan and Korea.

The results of the 2025 Taiwan Sustainable University Awards have been announced, and Feng Chia University once again stood out with its outstanding sustainable governance capabilities. In addition to receiving the “Taiwan Sustainable Model University Award,” Feng Chia also won the “Environmental Management Leadership Award,” the “Workplace Well-being Leadership Award,” and the “Sustainability Report Award—Silver Award,” making it one of the universities with the most awards in Taiwan. These achievements demonstrate Feng Chia’s leading results in the three major aspects of Environment (E), Society (S), and Governance (G).

Today (21st), in an unprecedented move, professors from five top Italian universities in architecture and design arrived together at Feng Chia University to attend the “2025 Co-Creating the Future: Culture × Creativity × Sustainability” international forum, workshops, and exhibitions, co-hosted by the Taichung Architecture and Culture Education Foundation and Feng Chia University. This visiting delegation includes 12 professors from Politecnico di Torino (POLITO), University of Camerino (UNICAM), University of Florence (UNIFI), University of Turin (UNITO), and Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), making it the largest-scale event in recent years.
